Professor Lord has been involved with the Quinnipiac University PA program since its inception in 1994. Originally she was the education coordinator and then in 1998 took over the role as Program Director. She graduated with her BS in Biology and Medical Technology from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Professor Lord graduated from the Yale University Physician Associate Program and earned her Master of Health Science-Medical Laboratory Science from Quinnipiac University.

Professor Lord teaches the following courses:

Prof. Lord is involved in all aspects of the students’ didactic and clinical training. She oversees the entire didactic curriculum and assists in the maintenance and recruitment of full-time and adjunct PA faculty. Professor Lord works closely with the clinical coordinators to evaluate clinical sites and promote the program. Professor Lord is a member of several PA program and university committees including the Admissions Committee, the Curriculum Committee, Accreditation Committee and the university’s Sabbatical Leave Committee. She is also a founding member and graduate advisor of the QU PA Student Society.

Professor Lord had been a leader in the PA profession since her student days when she served on Student Academy Board of Directors as the APAP-SAAAPA liaison. After graduating from PA school she joined the board of directors of the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants where she held many positions including Director at Large, President Elect, President and Immediate Past President. She has also served on the Public Education and Ad-hoc Reimbursement Committees. Working for many years with the Connecticut Physician Assistant Foundation, Professor Lord served as a Trustee at Large, President and Immediate Past President.

At the national level, Professor Lord has continued to be involved in both committee work, the Student Academy and the AAPA Board of Directors, where she is currently serving as President. Other leadership positions include member and chair of the Constituent Relations Committee, Chair of the House of Delegates Reference Committee C and graduate advisor to the Student Academy.

Professor Lord currently practices part time in family practice in Lisbon, an underserved area in Connecticut. She currently lives in Cheshire with her husband and two sons. Professor Lord enjoys skiing, bike riding, coaching boy’s lacrosse and watching her children’s numerous athletic events.

Professor Lisa Barratt, MS, PA-C, is a 1983 graduate of University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry, a 1989 graduate of Saint Joseph’s College in West Hartford, Connecticut with a Master’s of Science in Chemistry and a 1991 graduate of the Yale University Physician Associate Program.

Professor Barratt joined the faculty of the Quinnipiac University PA Program in 1998. She advises first year PA students and teaches the following courses:

PY 511- Principles of Surgery and Emergency Medicine Lecture and Lab
PY 512- Psychosocial Issues in Health Care
PY 503- Principles of Interviewing
PY 508- Diagnostic Methods Lab

She is also involved in all aspects of the educational/didactic phase including recruitment and admissions of students and administration of the curriculum. She is an active participant on all department committees including Academic Standing and Progress Committee, Admissions Committee, Steering Committee for Program Reaccreditation and assists in coordination and administration of the Comprehensive Examination. She is also the faculty liaison for the Midnight Run community service project.

Professor Barratt is also involved in the ELMPA (Entry Level Master’s Physician Assistant) program, Quinnipiac’s undergraduate pre-professional phase. In that program, she teaches the following courses:

Bio 388- Clinical Training I Lecture and Lab
Bio 389- Clinical Training II Lecture and Lab

This course is an Emergency Medical Technician- Basic course that the ELMPA students take in their sophomore year. Professor Barratt is a licensed State of Connecticut Emergency Medical Services Instructor and Paramedic.

Professor Barratt currently practices as a Senior Physician Assistant in the section of Trauma and Critical Care at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She is also the Immediate Past President of the Connecticut Physician Assistant Foundation.

In 2003, Professor Barratt received the Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program Excellence in Didactic Education Award and is the 2005 recipient of the SAAAPA President’s Award.

A lifelong Connecticut resident, Professor Barratt resides in Wolcott, Connecticut with her husband, Bill. They are life members of the Wolcott Volunteers Ambulance Corps. Professor Barratt’s hobbies include extreme gardening, raising and showing Great Danes, Red Sox baseball and music.
     
Professor Dawn Colomb-Lippa

Professor Dawn Colomb-Lippa graduated from Quinnipiac College (now University) PA Program in 1998. Her clinical experience has been in general surgery, emergency medicine and orthopedics. She has been teaching as an adjunct professor since 1998 and full time professor since 2002. The graduate PA courses that she teaches are:

Professor CL is also involved in the clinical residency year as a research paper advisor, grader and instructor of medico legal note writing.

Other courses taught by Professor Colomb-Lippa include undergraduate biology lectures and laboratories.

All of the faculty here at QU PA program are very involved in every aspect of the student experience including academic advising, interviewing and selecting candidates for acceptance. Professor Colomb-Lippa also serves as the didactic chair of the Academic Standing and Progress Committee which is the committee that reviews students’ performances and makes disciplinary action recommendations to the program director.
     
Professor Tim Ferrarotti

Assistant Professor

Professor Timothy Ferrarotti is a 1996 graduate of the Quinnipiac University PA program. Professor Ferrarotti was named Alumni of the Year by the Quinnipiac University PA program in 1999. He is also a Distingished Fellow of the American Association of Physician Assitants. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1990. He completed his Doctor of Health Sciences degree from Nova Southeastern University in September 2005.

Professor Ferrarotti has been an adjunct instructor in the program since 1996. He is an instructor in the following courses:

Professor Ferrarotti was named Alumni of the Year by the Quinnipiac University PA program in 1999.

He has been a clinical preceptor for undergraduate ELMPA students as well as for second year PA students. He has practiced in Emergency Medicine for the past 12 years.

Professor Ferrarotti, his wife and their three sons enjoy camping, model railroading, and travel to historic places.

     
Professor Bill Kohlhepp

Professor Bill Kohlhepp, MHA, PA-C is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Rutgers Physician Assistant Program. He has a Master of Health Administration from Quinnipiac University. He is currently a Doctor of Health Science student at Nova Southeastern University.

Professor Kohlhepp joined the faculty of the Quinnipiac University PA program in 1996. He advises first year PA students and teaches the following courses:

Prof. Kohlhepp chairs the Admissions Committee and is a co-chair of the Academic Standing & Progress Committee. He participates on all other department committees including the curriculum Committee and Steering Committee for Program Reaccredidation.

He is also involved in the ELMPA program, Quinnipiac’s undergraduate pre-professional phase. In that program, he teaches the following courses:

BI 401 – Introduction to Clinical Problem-Solving
BI 204 – PA Seminar II

He is the advisor for all freshman ELMPA students.

Professor Kohlhepp currently practices part time in occupational medicine at Saint Raphael’s Occupational Health Plus in New Haven. His clinical experience now spans twenty-five years and a total of four practice specialties. In addition to his current practice, he has worked in Internal Medicine and then Family Medicine at Community Health Care Plan as well as Emergency Medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital. In addition to his clinical roles, Professor Kohlhepp also did clinical research in association with the Yale Trauma Phyician Administrative Role. In addition, he was the health care administrator in two practices- Health Center Manager at CHCP and Administrative Director at St. Raphaels. Prior to joining the Quinnipiac faculty, he served seventeen years as an adjunct faculty member at the Yale PA Program.

His work in PA professional organizations spans his entire career. He is one of only seven individuals who have both served as AAPA President and AAPA Speaker of the House of Delegates. He is currently Chair-Elect of the National Commission on Certification of PAs. He has also been active on a state level, having served twice as ConnAPA President. He is current ConnAPA Treasurer.

Recently (2005), Professor Kohlhepp was given the Founders Award by the Connecticut Academy of PAs. In 1999, he received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the School of Health Related Professions, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. He was the recipient of the AAPA House of Delegates - Outstanding Service Award in 1985. In the same year, he received the ConnAPA President's Award.

He is married to Peggy Dillinger-Kohlhepp and has two sons- Justin and Jared. He is an avid college basketball fan. He is A pitcher on Jake’s Snakes Softball Team.

     
Professor Terry O'Donnell

Professor Terry O’Donnell, MEd, MHS, PA-C, is a graduate of the Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program. She also has a Master of Education in the School of Organization and Management from Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene, New Hampshire.

Professor O’Donnell joined the faculty of the Quinnipiac University PA program in 1999. She advises first year PA students and teaches the following courses:

She chairs the Curriculum Committee and participates on all department committees including Academic Standing and Progress Committee, Admissions Committee, Steering Committee for Program Reaccredidation and assists in coordination and administration of Comprehensive Examination.

Professor O’Donnell currently practices part time in allergy, asthma and immunology for a private practice in the Hartford and Glastonbury areas. Previously, she has worked in occupational health and cardiothoracic surgery. She is the treasurer for the Physician Assistant Foundation of Connecticut and has previously served as Member at Large and Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants.

In 2004, Professor O’Donnell was awarded the Alumni of the Year by the Quinnipiac University PA program.

     
Professor Cindy Rossi

Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator


Professor Cindy Rossi is a graduate of the Yale University School of Medicine Physician Associate Program. She also has a Master of Health Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Biomedical Sciences from Quinnipiac University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Connecticut.

Professor Rossi joined the full time Quinnipiac University PA Program faculty in 1998. Her primary job is the Clinical Coordinator of the program where she coordinates all aspects of the clinical (second) year of the program. She is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and recruiting core and elective rotation sites. She is also responsible for monitoring student performance and evaluating the clinical sites. This includes courses:

Professor Rossi also serves as a Clinical Advisor to many second year students. In addition to her role as a clinical coordinator, she also teaches 4 courses:

Professor Rossi also participates in PY 676 (Comprehensive Examination) as well. She serves on several PA program committees including:

Professor Rossi is a board certified PA-C and has clinical experience in the medical specialties of Allergy, Family Practice, and Emergency Medicine. She is a fellow member of ConnAPA and AAPA.

Prof Rossi’s graduate level awards include the Quinnipiac University Graduate Academic Excellence Award in Biomedical Sciences and the Yale University Physician Associate Program Medical Writing Award.

Professor Rossi is a lifelong resident of Connecticut. Her non-professional interests include dancing, singing, and softball.
     
Professor Peter Sandor

Professor Peter Sandor MHS, PA-C, RRT is a 1997 graduate of Quinnipiac College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Care and a 2001 graduate of the Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program with a Master’s of Health Science degree.

Professor Sandor has been involved in various aspects of the Physician Assistant Program at Quinnipiac University since his graduation in 2001. He is a clinical adjunct assistant professor and preceptor for first and second year PA students performing their clinical rotation in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at St Francis Hospital. Professor Sandor also teaches in the following courses:

PY676 – Comprehensive Exam

More recently Professor Sandor has completed his role as interim clinical coordinator at Quinnipiac University where his responsibilities included:

Professor Sandor is also involved at Quinnipiac University in a non-teaching role with such committees as Interviewing Committee and Academic Standing and Progress Committee.

Since graduation from the QU PA Program Professor Sandor has been employed by Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center as a Physician Assistant in the department of Surgery, section of Critical Care Medicine. He is actively involved in education at the hospital where he has presented at various nursing conferences. He is also an instructor of the Fundamental Critical Care Support course and a member of the St Francis Hospital Nutrition Committee. Since graduation he has also been involved in various research projects and has presented his work in 2004 at the Society of Critical Care Medicine international conference as well as presenting at the 2005 American Association for the Surgery of Trauma conference.

Professor Sandor has also been named Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Programs Alumni of the Year in 2005.  
     
Janice Dadio

Program Secretary



Janice has been the Quinnipiac University Graduate Physician Assistant Program secretary since June, 2001. Her previous work history includes several years as a secretary, medical claims processor and office manager for local Internal Medicine, Rheumatology and ENT medical offices. She lives in North Haven. She enjoys shopping, scrapbooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Janice is also the 2008 recipient of the QU center for excellence award.
