Cynthia Lord, the director of the program, is very dedicated to this program an in making sure that we get the best education possible, in and out of the classroom. We take pride in our community and offer many services to them. We screen people, who may not otherwise go to the doctor, for diabetes and hypertension; we talk to people about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and how to obtain it; we teach people about the harmful affects of smoking and offer suggestions on how to quit; and much more. Not only do we help people with medical needs, but we help those who are less fortunate too. We hand out food and clothing to the homeless and we bring Christmas early to a couple of families who would not have had one otherwise.
The program teaches you that there is so much more we can offer and is just as important as understanding the material taught in class. This program is very time consuming, leaving little time for a social life, but in the end it will be worth every minute.
