Examples of 2005's PA Program's Community Service

 

 

Operation Christmas Child- Nov 2003- Sent shoeboxes full of toys to children around the country.

Christmas Adopt-A-Family - Dec 2003 -Class of 2005 adopted a family at Christmas and brought them stockings, presents, food, and lots of spirit to brighten their holidays. 

Midnight Run- On the first Monday of every month, students travel to homeless shelters nearby to bring clothes, food, toiletries, etc.

Hamden Health Fair - Oct 2003 An event that gives back to the people in the commuity of Hamden.

Quinnipiac University Law Fair - Nov 2003 Students provided blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, vision screenings as well as educating about proper skin and breast / testicular self-exams.

Blow Your Whistle on Asthma Walk - Oct 2003- Students walked and raised money for this wonderful cause.

KEEPS  Program - Students provide screening tests for kidny disease such as blood glucose and blood pressure monitoring. KEEPS benefits the National Kidey Foundation of CT.

National Primary Care Week - QU Students, paired up with UCONN volunteered at a pre-school Head Start program and highlighted the importance of primary care.

Women's Health Fair- Sept 2003- Provided public education and blood pressure screening at the local Wallmart.

Planned Future Events

Cow Chip Bingo/ Road Race - April 2004- This is a QU PA Student Society's annual event to raise money for the AAPA's Host City Prevention Campaign.
