UNIT 6 - Thalamus
This unit will present the structure and function of the thalamus, and its inter-relationship with the surrounding structures of the C.N.S. to provide a more complete picture of the C.N.S. as a whole.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this unit, the student will be able to:
1. List the general functions with which the thalamus is involved.
2. Name three functional divisions into which the thalamus can be divided.
3. Identify the major nuclei of the thalamus given an anatomical drawing.
4. Name the "type" of input to and destination of output from each thalamic nuclei.
5. Describe in writing the specific functional significance of each thalamic nuclei.
