UNIT 12 - Systems Model of Motor Control
Unit 12 presents further explanation of motor control through a detailed explanation of the three components of the Systems Model of motor control.
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this unit the student will be able to:
1. Describe in writing the functional significance of the muscle spindle as a stretch receptor.
2. Describe in writing the functional significance of the muscle spindle as a postural control regulator.
3. Describe in writing the functional significance of the muscle spindle as a monitor of movement.
4. Describe in writing the functional significance of the muscle spindle in “error control.”
5. Illustrate and describe in detail all components of the systems model of motor control.
