House Hotel
The
Belmont
Hotel is a short walk from Leicester train station. From the station,
turn left onto London Road. Cross to the other side of London road at
the first pedestrian crossing, and then take the first right on to De
Montfort Road. The
Belmont is on your left after 50 metres, on the
corner of De Montfort Road and New Walk. Alternative accommodation is
available at the Regency Hotel, which is a short taxi ride, or 15-20
minutes walk up London Road.
To book your rooms for CHARM, you must call
the Hotel reservations line (+44 (0116) 252 9602). Inform the
reservationist that you are with the University of Leicester group
booking and provide the following code: UL2905. You will obtain the
special CHARM rates.
The cost is a
very reasonable £60 per night for a single room, including breakfast.
For any delegates that require double rooms for two people the cost will
be £80 per night.
Since conference attendees will be taken by coach
from the Belmont House Hotel to the conference facilities in Oadby, we
highly recommend that all CHARM participants stay at the hotel itself.
Otherwise those participants staying at the hotel suggested below will
be expected to either make their way to the Belmont by the time of
departure or their own way to the facility (e.g. via Taxi). Belmont
House has been selected as the conference hotel because of its proximity
to the train station, as well as to the main University campus where the
Thursday registration will take place, as well as the evening meals on
Thursday and Friday.
The Regency Hotel
The Regency Hotel is a ten minute taxi journey

Travelling to Leicester
By Train:
Leicester lies
on the London (St. Pancras) – Sheffield, the
Birmingham-Nuneaton-Peterborough-Norwich and Stansted, and the
Coventry-Nottingham-Lincoln lines.
By Air:
East Midlands
International Airport is the closest airport to Leicester, but there are
direct bus services to Leicester from regional airports:
